Cookidoo Assistant

" What shall I cook today? " This question is probably familiar to anyone who cooks regularly. Sometimes we have mountains of vegetables and fruit in the fridge, but no idea what to make with them. Other times, we feel like something completely new, but don't know where to find it.

Cookidoo takes the next step. New features such as Cookidoo Assistant and Recipe Translation make the platform even more flexible, international, and better tailored to what you really need at any given moment.

What is Cookidoo Assistant?

Cookidoo Assistant is a digital assistant that allows you to talk to Cookidoo more naturally. You no longer need to know exactly which recipe you are looking for. You can simply say what you are in the mood for, which ingredients you have in the fridge, or how long you want to cook. Cookidoo Assistant can help you with things like:

• find an idea for a quick dinner

• use ingredients you already have in your fridge

• find vegetarian or vegan recipes

• find something suitable for the whole family

• choosing a dessert for the party

• discovering cuisines from different countries

• find an idea for lunch or dinner

• plan a menu for a specific occasion

• make a shopping list

• discovering new dishes you had never thought of

For example, you can write:

I have eggs, spinach, and feta. What can I make with them ?

or

I have bell peppers, zucchini, and rice.

or

Find a lunch that I can prepare in 20 minutes .

You can also just say that you are in the mood for something Mediterranean, comfort food, or a dish the children like.

This changes the way you use Cookidoo a little. Instead of browsing through hundreds of recipes for inspiration, you can start with what you need, and Cookidoo helps you find the right direction.

Recipe translation

Cookidoo opens up to kitchens from all over the world. The second important change is recipe translation, which allows you to translate selected recipes from other countries into your own language.

Imagine you are browsing on Cookidoo and come across a recipe that looks fantastic, but is in a language you don't understand. Now you can translate it directly on the recipe page. The translation, powered by AI, appears within seconds, and you can still prepare the recipe using the cooking guide. Language is no longer a barrier to discovering new flavors.

World cuisine in your language

With Recipe Translation, you get access to recipe libraries from various countries and discover dishes you might not have found before in your local Cookidoo library.

The feature is initially available in the following languages:

  • English

  • Spanish

  • Italian

  • Polish

  • Portuguese

  • German

  • French

Recipes from the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Germany, and France are also available, and more languages and countries will be added in the future.

And this is where it gets really interesting, because you can discover recipes like these:

  • Pastéis de nata

  • Challah with breadcrumbs

  • Rolls with strawberries and crumble topping

  • Seafood paella

  • Pan co' Santi

  • Arepa sifrina

  • Irish coffee Dalgona

  • Curry sausage with Sansibar Curry sauce

  • Gemüseeintopf mit Kartoffeln und Würstchen

  • Scandinave Kanelbullars

And that is one of the things I appreciate most about this change. It is not just about translating a few words. It is about the fact that we now have access to recipes that were previously practically inaccessible to us.

From travel to your own kitchen

Do you love traveling and the food you discover along the way? Now you can try to recreate some of those flavors in your own kitchen. You might discover an Italian dessert, Spanish paella, Portuguese cookies, or Polish challah bread, even if the original recipe was published in another country. Just look it up on Cookidoo, translate it, and get started.

With Guided Cooking, you don't have to wonder what to do next. The recipe guides you step by step through the preparation process, just as you are used to from other Cookidoo recipes.

Cookidoo Assistant + Recipe Translation

The interesting part comes when we combine both functions. For example, you could write the following:

I want to make an Italian dinner for four people on Saturday evening .

Cookidoo Assistant can help you find the right inspiration, and with Recipe Translation, you also have access to recipes originally available in other countries and languages. This means that Cookidoo is becoming more than just a place to search for a specific recipe. It is increasingly evolving into a culinary assistant that helps you decide what to cook, which ingredients to use, and how to discover new things.

How does this change daily cooking practice?

For me, the biggest change is that you no longer have to start with a fixed idea. You can start with what is in your fridge. With how much time you have. With the occasion. With the dish you are in the mood for. Or simply with: "I don't know what to cook today." With these new features, you can:

• Discover international regulations

• Discover new variations of well-known dishes

• Get inspired by different cuisines from around the world

• Discover new desserts

• Discover new flavors and ingredients

• Use Guided Cooking with translated recipes as well

• Find ideas that were previously unavailable in your local library.

This is especially important for people living abroad, multicultural families, travelers , or simply people who like to try new things .

Cookidoo is becoming increasingly international.

Cookidoo has long been a huge recipe library, but these two new features open up a completely new way to use it. Cookidoo Assistant helps you find ideas when you don't know exactly what you're looking for. Recipe Translation gives you access to recipes that might previously have been out of your reach because they were written in another language. Together, they bring world cuisine a lot closer to your own kitchen.

Yes. With this feature, you can translate selected recipes that are available in other countries and languages.

Does the translation work in Polish?

Yes. Polish is one of the languages available in the first version of the feature.

Yes. A translated recipe retains the option to use the cooking guide.

Are all countries and languages available now?

It is worth checking the current capabilities of your device. And you? What would you cook first? For me, the biggest advantage of these changes is the ability to go beyond what we already know. Suddenly, a recipe from Italy, Spain, Portugal, or another country can be just as easy to prepare as a recipe from our own cookbooks. And I have a feeling that after enabling these features, the question "What am I going to cook today?" will suddenly have far too many answers.
